Occupation
HR Business Partner
I am a geeky father of two boys, who take up most of my time. Outside of my monsters, I love artistic endeavors, that include but aren’t limited to acrylic paint pouring, mod-podge, and T-Shirts. I particularly love comic books and turning old weathered gems from my childhood into new art. The maker movement has given me a wonderful outlet for my emerging creative brain.  Outside of making, my husband and I love to be outdoors and hang with friends and family.
Why CO.LAB?
CO.LAB gives Austin a welcoming space for folks to tinker and make.  For too long, parts of our community haven’t felt free to bring their whole selves to these maker spaces, which are inherently intimidating.  CO.LAB offers a safe, inclusive space to create.  The access that CO.LAB provides to underserved communities (People of Color, Women, and Queer People) will level the playing field and give everyone the equal opportunity to better themselves, their art/science, and their business endeavors.  I’m all in on this mission.

Alex Morrison
Occupation
Independent Museum Professional
Alex Morrison is an Independent Museum Professional based in Austin, Texas. Their work focuses on collaborating with museums and other non-profit institutions to develop and deliver innovative educational programs and facilitator training intended to foster engagement with a museum's collection and increase a museum's patronage in younger audiences, schools, and families. In Alex's spare time, they also co-run HIVE Arts Collective, a skill-sharing community for women and non-binary makers in Austin!
Why CO.LAB?
"As a Maker Educator myself, I think there is a visible rift between the mission of Making and the actual culture it has created. While the mission of the Maker movement focuses on encouraging people of all backgrounds and abilities to explore, experiment, and take risks, the practice in the everyday gives favor to those with access to expensive technologies, excuses unsolicited and often condescending feedback as merely "dialogue", and has a tendency to question the integrity or "authenticity" of women-identified Makers, Makers of color, and queer Makers. As a member of the Advisory Council, I look forward to working with new friends, colleagues, and members of our community to ensure everyone has a space where they can create confidently together!

Frederick Reinhardt
Occupation: Paralegal
Queer husband, and father of 2 kids.  Professionally I started off in nursing several decades ago.  I jump shipped from Healthcare to Law over 20 years ago and now spend my days defending healthcare practitioners before state agencies.  In my spare time I am a fierce glamper and enjoy traveling with my family making memories.  Eventually I WILL retire from my desk job and spend my time traveling and "camp hosting" in State and National parks around the lower 48.  I hoard supplies for craft projects and enjoy making a variety of things that I see in person and on-line.
Why CO.LAB?
"Making" is more fun with frenz, and making frenz with like-minded people is, both, inspiring and fun.  I appreciate having a space where I can come, spread out, make (crafts and frenz).  If you see me, say hello and TEACH ME SOMETHING!
